Coconut oil is an amazing emollient if your skin’s natural barrier function is disturbed. It restores and repairs the skin protectors quickly owing to its rapid absorbency into the epidermis.
Coconut oil is packed with lauric acid, caprylic acid, Vitamin E, and essential amino acids which are necessary for good skin health. Additionally, coconut oil is primarily made of saturated fats which lock the moisture in the skin.
People with crepey skin or loose skin can maintain their skin elasticity by using coconut oil.
Personal Experience: One of my friends has sagging skin under eyes and her doctor suggested her to use coconut oil. Within a month of using this oil, her sagging skin started getting tightened. This proves the effectiveness of coconut oil for crepey skin.

If I talk about myself- how I use coconut oil on my skin then I use it as a skin cleanser. I’m using it as a cleanser from the last year and definitely want to stick with it in the future. It allows your skin to breathe and stay afresh.
Here is how I use coconut oil for face cleansing:
- Take about 1 teaspoon of coconut oil in your palms and start rubbing on your face.
- Massage oil properly over your skin, ensuring that it doesn’t get into your eyes.
- At this point, your makeup will start coming off from your skin.
- Take a wet microfiber cloth and wipe your face with it.
It will be great if you follow this routine twice a day- morning and night because your skin will be nourished and moisturized by natural ingredients.
2. Coconut Oil as a Massage Oil –
Coconut oil is a perfect body massage oil has it stimulates blood circulation, which leads to relaxation. It has antibacterial as well as antifungal properties that keep skin infections at bay. On a massaging body with this soothing oil, you can easily treat problems like jet lag, cellulitis, athlete’s foot, and folliculitis. Furthermore, it makes your body skin soft and smooth.
Apart from the above reasons, I like to use coconut oil as a massage oil is because it gets into my cuticles and maintains nail health.
- Take a sufficient amount of coconut oil in a bowl and warm it little.
- Apply it on the body and massage in circular motions.
- Keep massaging until it’s absorbed partially or fully.
3. Coconut Oil for Skin as a Skin Hydrators –

Do you have dry skin? If yes, then start using coconut oil for skin care. You can use it as a face and hand moisturizer as it maintains moisture levels into your skin for a longer time.
I don’t know whether or not you have ever read the ingredient list on the makeup products for dry skin, coconut oil has been used by many brands as a base ingredient. So, you can now realize how much effective coconut oil is for dry skin.
This is how I use coconut oil on my skin. However, there are many other coconut oil uses for skin, including UV protection, heals wound on the skin, heals burns, and lightens signs of aging.
How Much Coconut Oil Should You Use?
Not too much is needed!
Coconut oil isn’t a light product that is why you should always use a little amount of it. Using too much coconut oil will make your skin look and feel greasy and uncomfortable.
Is coconut oil good for skin? Definitely, if used in an appropriate amount as an excess of anything isn’t good for you.
